Guided by Homer

For more than two decades, Homer Nottingham has been teaching Qigong and Tai Chi in Nevada County, helping people improve strength, balance, and overall well-being.
Homer began practicing in the mid-1980s after discovering Qigong during a trip to Hong Kong while serving as a Division Vice President at American Express. He continued his training at Esalen Institute in Big Sur and the Omega Institute in New York,
Since retiring in 2001, he has focused on teaching—sharing a practical, grounded approach built on consistent practice and long-term results. Today, his work also reflects a growing body of research on movement, aging, and mind-body health emerging from leading universities and medical research programs.
Homer also serves on the board of the local hospital’s HealthSpan initiative, a community effort focused on whole-person wellness—supporting physical, social, and spiritual health, and helping residents live longer, healthier lives through prevention, connection, and active living.
